Policy Overview

Gramowatt Technologies Ltd is a full-spectrum technology and energy solutions company offering the sale and professional installation of solar energy systems, consumer electronics, and electrical products across Nigeria. This Warranty and Service Policy governs all transactions, installations, and digital tools associated with Gramowatt Technologies Ltd and applies to all customers — individual and corporate alike.

We stand firmly behind the quality of every product we sell and the workmanship of every installation our technicians carry out. Our warranties are structured to protect your investment and give you genuine confidence — whether you have purchased a solar inverter, a household appliance, a generator, or an electrical accessory from us.

ℹ️

Note: This policy supersedes all previously published warranty documents issued under the Gramosolar brand. All existing customers from that era are fully covered under this updated policy from its effective date.

Installation & Workmanship Warranty

Gramowatt Technologies Ltd provides a 12-month workmanship warranty on all installations carried out by our certified technicians. This warranty covers defects or failures that arise directly from errors in installation technique, method, or execution — not from the equipment itself.

✓ What Is Covered

  • Loose or failed cable connections due to technician error
  • Incorrect wiring configurations
  • Improper mounting or fixings of panels, brackets, or units
  • Installation-related system malfunction or shutdown
  • Failure caused by incorrect equipment sizing during installation
  • Earthing and grounding faults from installation
  • Internal cabling issues within installed systems
  • Electrical wiring errors carried out by our team

✕ What Is Not Covered

  • Manufacturer defects in equipment (see product warranty)
  • Physical damage caused by the customer or a third party
  • Lightning strikes, power surges, or NEPA voltage fluctuations
  • Flooding, fire, extreme weather, or natural disasters
  • Modifications made by unauthorised persons
  • Normal wear and tear of components
  • Damage from pests or rodents
  • Systems relocated without Gramowatt's involvement
Electronics & Electrical Products Warranty

Gramowatt Technologies Ltd deals in a wide range of consumer electronics and electrical products including televisions, fans, lighting, power extension units, electrical cables, sockets, switches, conduits, and more.

🔌 Consumer Electronics (TVs, Fans, Appliances)

Warranty on consumer electronics is primarily administered by the original manufacturer or their authorised Nigerian service centres. Gramowatt acts as your point of purchase and will assist in initiating and processing manufacturer warranty claims on your behalf.

  • Defects must be reported within the product's stated warranty window
  • The product must be returned in its original or safe packaging
  • Proof of purchase from Gramowatt Technologies Ltd is required
  • Products with physical damage or evidence of tampering will not qualify
  • Gramowatt does not directly repair electronics unless we hold a service agreement with the brand
⚡ Electrical Materials & Accessories

Electrical accessories such as cables, sockets, switches, circuit breakers, and conduits are covered under a 3–6 month replacement warranty from the date of purchase, for verified manufacturing faults.

  • Item must not have been subjected to improper use or overloading
  • Defective items are replaced — no cash refunds unless the item is out of stock
  • Batch faults affecting multiple items are handled on a case-by-case basis
  • Items installed by a third party (not Gramowatt) are the responsibility of that installing party
Solar Energy Systems — Extended Policy

Solar energy systems represent a significant investment. Gramowatt Technologies Ltd is committed to ensuring every system we sell and install performs reliably for years to come.

🔋 Battery Systems
  • Batteries must be operated within the specified voltage and current range
  • Deep discharge below the manufacturer-specified minimum level voids the warranty
  • Batteries stored or operated in excessive heat (above 45°C) are not covered
  • Warranty covers capacity loss beyond normal degradation as defined by the manufacturer
  • Physical swelling or casing rupture from overcharging is reviewed on a case-by-case basis
🔆 Solar Panels

Panels carry the manufacturer's performance and product warranty. Gramowatt facilitates claims on your behalf but is not the primary warranty provider for panels. Customers are encouraged to register their panels directly with the manufacturer where applicable.

⚙️ Inverters & Charge Controllers

Inverter or controller faults must be reported promptly. Our technicians will diagnose whether the fault is installation-related (covered by us) or a hardware defect (covered by the manufacturer). Gramowatt will manage the repair or replacement process with the supplier on your behalf throughout the warranty period.

General Warranty Exclusions

The following circumstances void or limit warranty coverage across all product and service categories:

  • Damage resulting from acts of God — flooding, lightning, earthquake, or fire
  • Power surge or voltage spike damage, including from NEPA/PHCN grid instability
  • Repairs, modifications, or tampering by persons not authorised by Gramowatt
  • Failure to follow product care or usage instructions provided at point of sale
  • Use of incompatible accessories or components not recommended by Gramowatt
  • Cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, discolouration) that does not affect functionality
  • Products with removed, defaced, or altered serial numbers or warranty stickers
  • Normal wear and tear or consumable parts (fuses, light bulbs, filters)
  • Damage from improper transportation or handling by the customer after delivery
  • Loss of data or software configurations in smart devices or inverters
  • Issues arising from use of non-genuine replacement parts
  • Products purchased from third parties and not directly from Gramowatt Technologies Ltd
How to Make a Warranty Claim

Follow these steps to get assistance as quickly as possible:

1
Contact Gramowatt Technologies Ltd

Call 08035848943 or email support@gramowatt.com. Describe the issue clearly — include the product name, where it was purchased, and when the fault appeared.

2
Provide Your Proof of Purchase

Share your receipt, invoice, or order reference number. This confirms your transaction with Gramowatt and establishes your warranty start date.

3
Document the Fault

Where possible, provide clear photographs or a short video showing the defect or malfunction. This significantly speeds up our technical assessment.

4
Technical Assessment

Our team will review your claim and determine whether it qualifies under our workmanship warranty, a manufacturer warranty, or falls outside coverage. We aim to communicate our decision within 3–5 business days of receiving full documentation.

5
Resolution

Approved claims are resolved via repair, replacement, or supplier engagement as applicable. On-site service requests are typically addressed within 24–72 hours, depending on your location in Nigeria.

⚠️

Important: Do not attempt to repair or modify the product yourself before making a warranty claim. Unauthorised repairs void the warranty entirely.

Online Tools — Disclaimer

Gramowatt Technologies Ltd provides two free digital estimation tools on our website to assist customers with energy planning. These tools are subject to the following terms:

⚡ NEPA Bill Calculator

Estimates your monthly electricity consumption and expected NEPA/PHCN billing based on your declared appliance usage and tariff band.

Results are estimates only. Actual NEPA billing is determined by your DISCO's metering and tariff structure. Gramowatt is not liable for any billing discrepancies arising from tool outputs.

☀️ Solar-for-Generator Calculator

Helps determine the appropriate solar system size to replace or supplement generator usage, based on your load and daily run hours.

Results are indicative and based on general assumptions. Actual requirements depend on a site survey. Always consult our team before making a purchase based on tool outputs.
⚠️

Limitation of Liability: Gramowatt Technologies Ltd makes no warranty — express or implied — regarding the accuracy or completeness of these calculator tools. Results are for guidance only and do not constitute a formal quotation, engineering assessment, or professional advice. Gramowatt shall not be held liable for any financial decisions, equipment purchases, or losses arising from reliance on tool outputs without a formal consultation with our team.

Customer Responsibilities

To keep your warranty valid and your equipment performing at its best, customers are expected to:

  • Retain proof of purchase for the full duration of the warranty period
  • Avoid tampering with, disassembling, or modifying installed systems
  • Keep installation areas clean, accessible, and properly ventilated
  • Report unusual behaviour — strange sounds, smells, error codes, or performance drops — to Gramowatt promptly
  • Not connect appliances or loads beyond the designed capacity of the installed system
  • Ensure that only Gramowatt-authorised technicians perform maintenance or repairs during the warranty period
  • Notify Gramowatt before relocating any installed equipment
